Mums in Science is inviting applications from Business Development specialists to assist us on a casual basis to secure funding for our platform, events and resources through corporate sponsorship.  We are looking for dynamic individuals that are passionate about supporting women and comfortable using digital channels for communication. This are remote positions and applicants may apply from anywhere in the world. Applicants must have the necessary tools and devices to carry out the duties and a fluency in English, both written and verbal- is required.

About the Role 
The Business Development Consultant is responsible for,
Maximising sponsorship opportunities with current and prospective Sponsors; and
Delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.

In this role, there is no requirement to work from 9-5 and you may work according to your own schedule. The successful candidate will work with management team to ensure sponsor needs are met while securing the funds required to support our initiatives. Candidates should ideally be available for a 1-hour meeting by video call every month. This is a commission-based role, that we hope to make permanent as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver clear and concise specifications in relation to sponsorship items;
Secure a sound understanding of Sponsor needs;
Provide relevant, accurate information on the range of Mums in Science services and products;
Identify and act upon cross-selling and additional business opportunities;
Maintain Account Management activities including Sponsors visits, calls and product demonstrations in line with procedures; and
Foster relationships to promote future business opportunities.

This is a commission only role, with a generous commission structure.

Sales and Customer service focus;
Develops strong rapport in working relationships;
Takes independent action to resolve customer concerns;
Seeks first-hand customer feedback and applies information to improve;
Uses active listening, oral and written skills to communicate effectively and professionally;
Receives and delivers constructive feedback positively;
Maintains composure whilst responding quickly in difficult situations; and
Contributes ideas and opinions to work discussions;

Internet and PC proficiency with good MS Word and Excel skills;
Ability to work in a start-up environment with professional email etiquette;
Related tertiary qualifications are well respected but not essential;
Proven experience in sales or related industry is beneficial but not essential;
