Like towels and toothbrushes, loofahs are constantly in contact with your body. Because you use a loofah to scrub yourself clean, you want to make sure that the loofah itself is also clean. Loofahs are designed to be scrunched up, meaning they have lots of crevices and folds where water and moisture can stick around. To help your loofah dry out better between uses, you might consider taking it out of the shower to dry. This will help keep bacteria and other germs at bay. On average, loofahs should be replaced every three to four weeks.
To better remember how often to replace bathroom items, you should come up with a system that works well for you. This could look like alternating colors of towels, toothbrushes, or loofahs each time you switch them out to signal when you need to change them. You can use physical or digital reminders to keep yourself on schedule.
